Reminders & Decisions
Pre-decided trigger actions, decision logs, and follow-ups that never
get lost.
What it is
Two related primitives that close the loop between "we said we'd do
something" and "we did it."
A reminder is a future action attached to a person, agent, or
trigger condition. "Remind me about Acme on Friday." "If 13-week
cash dips below $35K, defer category Y." "After this pilot hits
week 6, schedule the go/no-go review."
A decision is a recorded choice with context — what was decided,
who decided, when, why, and what it affects. Decisions live forever
and are linked to the playbook, work item, or initiative they touch.
Together they make HAPPEE a system that holds itself accountable.
What you get
- Time-based reminders — fire at a date or after a duration
Trigger-based reminders — fire when a metric crosses a threshold,
a state changes, or an event occursReminders attached to people, agents, channels, or work items
Decision log per channel, work item, initiative, or knowledge-base
documentDecision rationale captured at decision time
Linked artifacts — a decision links to the playbook update or work
item it producedSearchable history — "what did we decide about pricing in Q3?"
How agents use reminders and decisions
Agents use reminders to keep work moving without nagging:
The sales agent sets a follow-up reminder when a prospect says "call
me next month."Alex sets a trigger reminder for the 13-week minimum approaching the
$35K threshold. The operations agent sets a reminder for week 6 of each pilot to run
the activation check.
Agents use decisions to make commitments durable:
When a pricing experiment concludes and the founder picks the new
price, the decision is logged with the rationale. When a charter customer's go/no-go is approved, the decision links
to the launch plan. When a vendor stretch is authorized, the decision links to the cash
council where it was approved.
In small businesses
Small businesses lose decisions and follow-ups to memory and Slack
DMs. The cost shows up six months later when "didn't we decide
this?" turns out to have no answer. Reminders and decisions are
cheap insurance against that.
Where reminders and decisions show up across the business
In Cash flow stabilization:
trigger reminders on threshold breach; every council decision logged. In Outbound sales motion:
follow-up reminders on every prospect; pricing decisions logged. In First paying customers:
pricing experiment decisions; design-partner commitments tracked. In New product line: pilot success
criteria, pricing decisions, go/no-go decisions all logged.
